Stump Grinding - General Info
We grind stumps of all shapes and sizes all over Ottawa. Our machine will fit through a 36 inch wide gate so access to most back yards is possible. Generally we grind stumps to approx. 8 inches below grade, if requested we can grind down to 12 inches below grade. What you're left with is a mix of earth and mulch. It can be left or removed, we can even put down some top soil and grass seed.
Pricing
If you'd like to get a ball park idea of what it will cost to have your stump ground, follow these instructions:
Make sure your gate is at least 36 inches wide (if we have to go through it).
Measure the diameter of your stump in inches, at ground level at the widest part.
We charge $7.00 per inch in diameter with a $120.00 minimum charge. If there are a lot of surface roots that need grinding or if the stump is on a large "hump", add 30 percent to the total price. This is for basic grinding, leaving all mulch on site.

Under Ground Utilities
In some cases, under ground utilities will need to be marked before stump grinding can begin. It's free and it takes 5-7 business days once we call the locators with the information. Once we get clearance to dig, we will promptly get your stump ground out.
